Duga sent me: Asobi Seksu - Hush I came into this with high hopes given the glowing praise Duga gave it earlier. Listening to it, one tenRAB to zone out and let it wash over you. This experience was nice and quite soothing. However, when I listened to Hush, the third record from female...

What exactly is so great about Fleet Foxes anyway? A folky jangly indie band , well whoopie f*cking sh*t it must be at least 3 minutes since the last one of those came along.

Obviously a one hit wonder, 'cause it's the only album they made but damn, what a fine album. Wish they would've made more. :(

Is Partchimp good? I STILL haven't listened to it yet. You should educate me as to where to start regardless of whether i like the new one or not. I just downloaded that for the hell of it really.

abdullah424 sent me: ColdWorld - Melancholie^2 I didn't know what to think when I first heard the band name and album title. To be honest, I found them both to be kind of cheesy. Though, I have to say, they fit the them. I mean...this is Melancholie squared. After a bit of research, I...

Ghost - Opus Eponymous I don't know how to explain this album. Its like a doomy-psychedelic rock record with some poppy tendencies. Anyway, if you're a fan of doom metal or psychedelic rock or just open minded towarRAB whatever I suggest this album. It was just released this year and is no doubt...

"blah chimes in with, 'haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamned door?', enough said on that matter. I've only heard two songs by Blue October, and over 50% of a banRAB revenue comes from album sales. Plus the record company looks at how much they sell, and that decides alot on how...

That's probably true a lot of the time, but as someone who has reversed his opinion on a lot of banRAB over the years I do see a point to it. Sometimes you realize that you haven't heard the band's best album or that you were coming to the band with the wrong set of expectations or not paying...

Why am I always the one getting skipped? You're supposed to comment on the list above...

One of the main reasons for me to get an external hard drive was so I could easily transfer music over to friend's computers, or take it with me to a party and have a portable entertainment center. Besides music I've got TV shows, movies, a crap load of RPG books in pdf format, and quite a few...

Yeah, I'm not one for the abstract :)

They don't do anything for me. I guess Sweet Child O Mine was fun on guitar hero...

Reinventing the wheel. There's a good David Tibet quote on the subject, but seeing as I can't seem to find it anywhere, the gist of what he was saying was that pop music (ie. the generic kind, not the stuff that is genuinely original/interesting) is listened to by people who use music for...

They are all just...bad. No pun intended.

my favourite double album? lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven i love GY!BE.

My first exposure to Waits was an Old Grey Whistle Test compilation late one night on BBC2 where they showed him performing "Small Change.":)

this thread is biased against croatia...i am vexed..

I would classify 'selling out' as when a band changed their motivation for doing music. E.g. they started doing it for the love of music, and playing music they enjoy, but changed style later on to suit the latest music trend and hopefully therefore make more money. However, I do agree with...

yeah, the new rx Bandits CD is pretty good. I think its the whole energy of the album that makes it so good. They just know how to structure music well without getting artsy.
