I agree. Actually, for me, the death nell was the album after Follow The Leader (don't even know the name.) By then there were three Korn Albums out and the single for the 4th album had me saying "Ummm, ok, its the same exact album...this is getting kind of old." Making the same album over...

Kurt Cobain said Nevermind was too slick and poppy for his tastes and that In Utero was the album he was most proud of. That being said Nevermind is easily my least favorite Nirvana album while In Utero is easily my favorite.

You might like to try Namie Amuro, esp. her Concentration 20 album, Ayumi Hamasaki, or Hikaru Utada. They have a lot of videos on youtube and you can preview many of their albums on iTunes. They may have something you life. Also, for male j-pop/rock artists there's Gackt and Dir En Grey.
