I used to use the t68i and it was an excellent little phone. I really loved that thing. I can't speak for the v188, but I did own a v180. That thing was a piece of crap. In my opinion, motorola doesn't put any effort into their lower end phones. The t68i was the cream of the crop back in the day...

only way around is to find Phoenix and do that whole route (don't ask on here, it's not allowed, fyi) or if Cingular/Nokia releases a new firmware, then you could change the product code to an unbranded one and then update your firmware. It's the same process as before, only it would work...
