Cartoon inventions you'd love to have

A blue duel disk that actually creates holographic images of the monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! would be pretty cool. A nice blue Duel Runner would be awesome too. Going at high speeds while trying to play the game sounds kind of fun, despite the obvious dangers in it.

Family Guy - "Halloween on Spooner Street" - Talkback [11/7]

Originally watching the episode, I was like 'they just went there?' and 'they just went THERE?' Oh, and... no way THEY JUST WENT THERE! Looking back in retrospect, it was actually funnier than I remember. Stewie thinking trick-or-treaters were monsters and trying to kill them; Chris and Meg...

Family Guy out rating the Simpsons in the UK.

Wow. I hope J.B. doesn't find out. Oh no, here he comes! So....we were talking about sheep, right? What do you think is the most effective method of shearing? I prefer against the grain, myself.

    "Screw you!" attitudes in animation

Uh.. From the way you described that, it sounds like it was just supposed to be a joke, based on the second character's stupidity. He was the one who thinks of the internet when the first person says 'web'. The joke relies on the audience's knowledge that there are other kinds of webs. I...

    Gems in the rough

For a 90s series, Sonic SatAM was probably one of the best of its time. I'm still annoyed at Disney for pulling a "ZOMG THIS IS TOO VIOLENT" and forcing it to be pulled. ABC finally had a really good line up at that point and I tend to think, at the time, Disney really screwed it up =(. If...

Your thoughts on 1980's morals and messages

To be fair, that moral was probably thought up by some intern at DIC on their lunch break, so best not to get too worked up about it. All the morals in the DIC Sailor Moon were tacked on just because they felt they had to. They never really cared about it though.

Futurama - "Ghost in the Machines" - Talkback [6/30]

You mean "LIFE in Hell"? Reference to actual magazine as well as Matt Groening's early comic work?

    discontinued? No more Palm os?

A friend of mine bought a TX the other day and told me that he had had a hard time finding one due to the fact that they are discontinued. What? Apparently rep at the store (I'm not sure which I'm assuming Staples) told him that the TX and Lifedrive were both discontinued. The rep also told...

The Sunday Telegraph's Top 10 Animation Movies

Someone who made this list has odd taste. Jungle Book and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves being the best Disney films? Perculiar choices if you ask me. IMO,Dumbo,Alice in Wonderland and Pinnochio are the best animated features, period.

Toon Zone Talkback - Hasbro, Discovery to Launch New Kids Channel

I doubt anyone will notice this channel any more than they noticed Discovery Kids.

Want Palm OS screen capture (again)

I'd go as Hook says. Snap is a simple app, not a DA, but it does the job clean. It indeed saves in .bmp though, but as long as you're not trying to make a stop-motion movie, you can clean the device's memory every now and then and there you are. Actually, Snap is my screen capture app of choice.

Family Guy - "And Then There Were Fewer" - Talkback [9/26]

People know better to not awaken DarthGonzo's wrath. This was a pretty good episode I can't wait to see a follow up of some kind.

Best and Worst Voice Recasts in Animation History

That's very true, but speaking of Dave Coulier, he also took over for Howie Mandell as the voice of Animal on the long-running Muppet Babies series in season 3.

    Anti-intellectualism in cartoons?

Oh, as it treating such ideas as a fantastic concept. That's legitimate, as long as there is a justifcation in the plot. However, having characters or the creators present anti-intellual ideas (such as pop psychology, poor theology, psuedoscience, artistic narrcissm, anti-science, etc.) is...

HTC Evo 4G Vs The HTC Incredible

Yeah - the Evo is quite a cool phone with it's gigantic cinema sized screen. Shame it's not AMOLED though. Isn't the Evo CDMA only? I mean that means it won't work on 99% of mobile networks that are GSM right?

    Would you buy lobster mushrooms?

I saw a tiny pkg of dried lobster mushrooms for $9.98. (US) Seemed outrageous - the unit price was posted as 175 dollars a pound. Yikes. Made the dried chanterelles look like a bargain at half the price. Can the flavor be worth it? I'll never know - at least from personal experience. What's...
