Is diarrhea part of her symptoms? Have the doctors specifically sent her for tests for intestinal parasites? My friend's son, at 17, had the exact same symptoms, on and off, coming out of the blue then abating again. Because of it's on-again-off-again nature, and tests for Crohn's etc. coming...
