Alright, not many responses in here, but I've found some initiative and after some thinking, have started an album club for prog & fusion albums :) Those who are interested in this genre or those who think they would be if they gave it a shot should check it out...

Autotune could be useful to correct slight pitch problems in vocals, but if used in the long run, I think it could be devasting to the core of what music really is. Music, for me, is an area where honesty should be expressed through both the artistic and personal sides of the band in question...

I didn't realise there were that many. The only ones I know of from the list are The Eagles and Radiohead. Maybe it's just the particular band I saw or even the room they played in that caused what I can only describe as noise.
