Finally saw it - my 2p here. Stellar performances from Felton, Rickman and Gambon. Some exceptionally good directing, and the dropped plotlines/altered scenes were very well handled, and probably for the best given the unwieldy nature of the book. I even include the way the death at the end...

I thought it was those episodes were very good, it must have been hard for both the cast, crew and writers to decide what they were going to do especially as they had already shot three episodes, they could have easily recasted the role but I think they made the right choice.

As a big fan of fantasy films, I am desperatley looking for some new ones (that aren't for children) that I can get my hanRAB on. I've already seen everything belonging to Tim Burton, but I'm interested to know what peoples opinions are? Are there any fantasy films you think I ought to watch?

Yeah I feel exactly the same, I think it's possibly just people who've seen the original because I find remakes never match up to the original. But personally I think it's excellent and the best one off drama on ITV in ages...
