By god, I didn't think anybody knew this guy :D I saw him in concert on the New Haven Green earlier in the summer. F'ing amazing concert. He did a totally fantastic cover of Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" as well. Really really great stuff.

Really? I mean, Oasis I can understand, and I know a lot of people don't like the Roses but what about Joy Division/New Order, the Smiths, A Certain Ratio, Buzzc0cks, Magazine, etc etc!?

My mother and father both listen to whatever is on the classic rock radio stations, which would be tolerable if I hadn't heard them 1000+ times. It's really spoiled some classic songs. When my parents try to get into modern music, they end up listening to the likes of Nickelback and Incubus.

I read in a magazine interview article with their guitarist Dan Estrin that Hoobastank was actually their Finnish bass players middle name. I've also read a whole bunch other stories that apparently came from other band merabers so I'm not sure how much truth there is to that, but that's one story.
