I really hated Bathory growing up but I have recently really gotten into them, although I disliked Hammerheart a lot. Blood, Fire and Death is where it's at for me.

I don't feel like I'm particularly familiar enough with black metal in general to recommend something; What I would say is that I really love music that gets better in headphones, and this album has that in spades. I'd recommend it 'kind of', but it's 1.2 hours long and I'd hate to waste...
