I know the 749s calculates speed by the rear tire sensor but is this also how it calculates for the odometer? It makes sense that this is true but I am asking for confirmation. Cheers

The Haynes manual is a pretty good one, with only a few minor errors, so it is a great investment. Currious about your valve adjustment though- why are you looking forward to it? Are they tapping? I've had three of these bikes, and none of them needed a valve adjustment before 20,000 miles.

My first one was replaced with a 407 it was replaced before dealers had the bulliten i got reembursed after bulliten was released. they did not have any 408s at the time so they put on a 407, second 407 did the same thing after 9000 miles and they also replaced it for free.
