Try closing the applications you have running in the background when you try to send it and see if it helps. It sounds like you installed an application that's eating a lot of memory in the background on your phone and the restore you used after a hard reset is restoring the problem with it.

Keep in mind also that with a QWERTY board, you also have to learn WHERE, in a 26 letter matrix, the characters actually ARE. With T9, you just have to know where your letter is on a phone keypad matrix. I guess it just boils down to personal preference. I can type full words, including word...
