I'm actually quite glad that Peter Jackson chose to remove the scouring of the Shire from the movies. After the epic struggle to get to Mount Doom it would have seemed like an unnecessary elongation of the movie. It works in the book, but in movie form it could have ruined it a bit (imo).

I thought it glorified hooligans too much. But saying that, I thought football hooliganism wasn't really explored much in this film, it had some funny moments but other than that it didn't really hold my attention for too long.

They are not Zombies in the classic sense that they are alive when they are infected and thus become rage infected, all other body functions are canceled out, hence the infected eventually die from starvation but a nice twist on the Zombie genre.

Free in today's Daily Express (only spotted it when I nipped into the newsagent!): 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' starring Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour. Looks like an eighties tv movie. Says 'digitally remastered' on the front. May be a companion DVD in tomorrow's paper.
