Well unless you are rooted then no the G1 is not capable of handling a higher fireware...if you are then we now have the ability to handle 2.1 follow this thread to root and install...but please read up on rooting and the "side effects" so that your not back here asking questions here a link...

you should try using it before recommending it. the video makes it seem cool, but in reality it is weak compared to shopsavvy. in my experience GS had trouble scanning barcodes and finding items. the same items scanned with shopsavvy showed up quickly.

The sprint phone i have takes low quality .qcp files for a ringer and they sound like crap. Do any sprint phones take mp3's that sound better? or do they sound bad to?

One more question. I started to disassemble my n73 and I don't have the right star screwdriver. Does anyone know what size it is? It doesn't say in any of the disassembly instructions that i can find.
