I was wondering that too...Also in my meager experience almost any conversion software is somewhat slow, of course that will also depend on your computer. Personally, I have a 16G sd card, so I don'y worry about compressing my files... Oh and I use the MixZing paid app and NeoMusic/Mp3 to play...
