Try downgrading your radio to 3.35. I get locks in 3 seconRAB or less with 3.35. Also, find and install GPS Toggle .CAB. It puts a GPS toggle function on your home screen and greatly increases instant lock-ons when cold-starting Google Maps or Windows Live Search. Cheers.

The best way is to be submerged in nothing but the language. Unless, you can visit Japan and stay for awhile, I'd recommend getting Rosetta Stone. Also watching anime in Japanese with subtitles. That helps.
