Trigun is just a really good show. I love the balance of comedy and drama. I've not finished the manga but do enjoy and in general aggree it's better than the anime. The ending is abrupt but hardly rushed, the final fight was always going to be brutal and quite fast. Plus the lead up to it...

Superunknown is nearly 20 mins longer and clocks in around 70 mins a long listen for a newbie!!! Also Badmotorfinger has more obvious sounding singles whereas Superunknown far less so.
