What about the many films released nowadays that have a post credits scene? If you leave as soon as the credits start rolling, there is a good chance you will miss something. A couple of films I have seen over the last few years have had major plot points explained during the post credit...

Who knows, James Cameron could well be a big fan of the guy. I wouldn't say the Avatar designs are a complete ripoff of Dean's work or anything, but the influence could be there.
