Well, I downloaded some Explosions In The Sky. I liked it a lot, particularly the second track. I think I'll do some blogsearches for more post-rock.

Other than the Harry Potter series and a select few other books, I can only read biographies. A few books to look into are: Motley Crue : The Dirt (my favorite book of all time. A great read.), Aerosmith : The Biography, Slash : The Autobiography, Guns N' Roses : Watch You Bleed.

Actually, that's a bias opinion, I've only actually heard the one about the discovery channel and the one with the video where the guy drives a phallic car through a tunnel. Do they really make real music?

Dunno about thorography, but nymphetamine was a disappointment. They traded in their raw sound for something smooth and easy. Shame.

With the keyword in that sentence being "listen" I'd suggest just searching for streaming audio or "radio" sites for whatever genre of music your most interested in. If by listen you actually mean download, well.... that's a toughie.

yeah, i noticed that they lost a bit of their edge too, but idk, just something about the songs on there appealed more to me than Bad Brains did. i guess cause it was a bit more refined than before and less......slapped together i guess?

Well, the other issue that the merch is often where the money is made, not the series itself. You have to cash in to turn a profit, especially if you want to do anything experimental and non-exploitative on the side.

Unlike the Best Drummer thread, the mainstream bassists are actually the best. it's pretty hard to beat Les Claypool Tom Morrello and such
