I'm not fond of openings that use clip shows. If there's one thing I love about anime is their openings, which makes the show look intense fun and exciting, even if the animation in the show isn't as good.

WTF? I haven't heard of those films, but they'd have to be pretty freaking amazing to be more deserving than a masterpiece like Spirited Away and the undeniably significant Toy Story (I'd say Snow White as well, but despite its importance, it's not that great a movie).

Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, and The Mask which were PG-13 movies had cartoons. And The Mask was surprisingly good. Also, Mortal Kombat (a violent video game and PG-13 movie adaptation) also had a cartoon.

Yeah, it takes it self as seriously as the most overwrought KyotoAni adaptation. It even has a Kajiura-esque insert song during the climactic scene!
