i have similar issue on low signal ( 2 bars, not really low-low) i can hear well, but the other party can loose me for 3-5 seconds and everuthing goes back to normal. during 20 min call it can happen 2-3 times. regular FW ( the latest)

Are the pics that you are trying to make into background pics already pre-formatted to your correct screen resolution? 160x160, 320x320.. or whatever yours might be.. I found that they must be already set to this size, or it won't work right.
