great advice CB , also, smell the tranny fluid for a burnt smell , 189k is just broken in , do your motor a favour and change the oil before you take the trip . those are great cars , put an exhaust on it asap , your exhaust valves will last longer .

when the car is " doing it's thing " and you are on a level surface , check the tranny fluid level , leave it running , in P , and pull the tranny dipstick , wipe , re-insert then pull again to read the level , if you have enough and it smells burnt it's $$$ time .

some dealers will sell chips that do not void the warranty , as for the rest , ask the service mgr. when you pick it up , i'm surprised your salesman didn't arrange that .
