    Do I need to replace strut mounts/boots on Mazda Protege?

    I have a stock 2001 Mazda Protege 2.0 LX. The stock struts are bad and I want to replace with TOKICO HP series performance struts. Is it necessary to purchase the mount and boot kits when replacing the stock struts, or will the stock mount/boots work?

    I am considering doing about a 20-30 day hike across Ireland this fall. I am doing this for a backpacking/camping/hiking experience, so I want to avoid hostels and rental cars. I am unfamiliar with land policy in Ireland. How easy/hard is it to pitch tent in the middle of Irish countryside...
