    Why do I need glasses to read newspaper print in artificial light but not in sunlight?

    I can't read newspaper print anymore indoors unless I hold the print to my face and look at it through one eye (because it's too close to focus both). I'm far-sighted, so at one time I just held the paper farther away, but my eyes are a little weaker so I use glasses with 1.75X magnification...
