I'd say it has too many dry spots to really get the blood pumping. But when it climaxes, it can get intense. Suicide's self-titled, just for the fact that it has Frankie Teardrop.

It doesn't have to be dead for it to have a post-genre. Punk wasn't dead when post-punk came about. Emo wasn't dead when post-emo came about. Anyway, my favorite post-rock band is a dead tie between Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky. Honorable mentions to GY!BE and Mogwai.
