I just found it a thoroughly enjoyable movie and wasn't bothered by any plot discrepancies. Faults can be found in most films if looked for. Cloverfield took me back to the time when I first saw Jurassic Park, that sense of seeing something new and thrilling. It was both exciting and scary...
