How/where do I get an updated navigation DVD for my 2006 Ford Explorer?

2006 Ford Explorer - Reverse Sensor (What is it?)?
I'm thinking about getting a 2006 Ford Explorer and I noticed it has a "reverse sensor" on it. Does anyone know how exactly it works in this model? My friend just bought a new pickup and it basically looks like a stud finder that he can see in his rear view mirror that goes from green to red...
