its a senor that has two arms on it for 2002 ford windstar

My 02 Ford Windstar started locking the doors when I start the engine. It also started flashing the O/D light on the dash. The code that it tripped is PO 0705 and we think it's the transmission range sensor but I want to know if that can cause both of these symptoms
