    When can I take nyquil cough medicine?

    I took one mucinex pill today at around 1 pm and it says to take every 12 hours. It hasn't passed 12 hours yet but the medicine's really not working. I just bought some nyquil cough syrup. If I take it, would that be bad? Would it be an overdose or something?
