It's been a week, I've been showering with a plastic bag around it so it doesn't get wet. Is it now okay to get wet? I'm scared it will open it up and interrupt the healing process.

It's about 2 days old. It's deep but not enough to need stitches, it's not sore, it's slightly red around it and in the middle it's yellow and shiny. Is it infected or simply healing?
