    vodafone modem trouble in ireland if someone can help?

    got anew laptop for xmas its a acer emachine, connected my modem into it downloaded software etc went to open it up and said vodafone modem cannot be found or does not exist! any one know how i can sort this and get online im not very good with settings and that. laptop has windows 7 ifthis...
