    What would happen if the cell cycle proceeded normally, except that

    cytokinesis did not occur? The G1 and G2 phases would become shorter. A large cell with multiple nuclei would result. The absence of cytokinesis would inhibit mitosis. The resulting cells would get smaller and smaller. Cells without nuclei would be formed.
