    What are good lures and setups for fishing for large black and white crappie?

    I'm fishing in a public lake that allows you to keep fish, there are a lot of bass and some crappie. I need to know how to target crappie and not bass, or at least how to catch big crappie to keep for my 2 acre pond.

    It could be from fishing rocks or cover, or possibly you're missing an eye cover or one of them has a groove in it. If you still can't find the problem then you may want to switch to braided line because it is very abrasion resistant.

    is this the right fishing line?

    It would depend, fishing for bass somewhere in New York 10lb line is all you need as bass will only get 5-7 pound. But if you're fishing in the west or south like California or Texas where it's not uncommon to catch bass exceeding 10lbs you'd probably want at least 20lb line so they don't break...
