That is just another type of memory card you can use. The xD card is much smaller, but I've only seen up to 2 gigabytes of memory in it. The CF card is bigger, thicker, I've seen CF card up to 16 gigabytes of memory in it. So, yes more photos. It's only for storage, it wont make photos better.
