which cell phone has service in the most places in us?

I wouldn't disagree with that and that's actually the way I meant it. With the GSM and CDMA mini-debate with roaming and coverage areas I was trying to simplify along those lines. But basically yeah, just forget the GSM vs. CDMA and find out which carrier works best in the areas you mentioned.

    fake n73 music edition?

I just swapped the housing on my regular white/mocha N73 for the ME housing, it looks legit to me. I'm leaving the vanilla firmware cause I don't like the music player being open all the time, but other than that, holy piss this phone is sexy in black.

nokia 6630: got it from abroad and try making it work in Canada

In your case, first you need to make sure you have the right GPRS settings. Second, if your phone is branded, then it could be possible the settings are locked but the phone isn't. I'm not sure since you didn't include much information. If you were more specific, I could help you more.

Best pocket sized GSM phone based on reception?

Thanks...Looks like the 6230 is gonna be my phone...However, it looks like ONLY the 6230b will work with US carriers. The 6230i is a tri-band phone with 900mhz/1800/1900, which unfortunately isn't gonna cut it in the US. That makes me sad since it has a few considerably nicer features. So...

New Android user + HTC desire question

If you're talking about SenseUI, I understand the way to turn it off (this is from memory, so might be wrong) is to go into Menu -> Programs -> Manage programs -> HTC Sense -> Clear defaults (not sure if you need to do this or not), Force stop (you do need to do this) -> OK... then Android will...

    Newbie cell phone buyer Questions

Correct, Alltel is CDMA and 850 and Cingular is GSM and 1900. The other 850 carrier is Verizon as the 850 band is split only into an A and B side. The Carolinas and Virginia combined are a relatively large chunk of the country where CDMA dominates the 850 band. The coverage maps really help to...
