I don't think it was a perfect Clowes adaptation - but Buscemi is danged good in it. Also, Scarlett Johanssen acts like an anorexic piglet on valium all the way through this film - Thora Birch plays defiant insecurity with aplomb. Birch should have gone on to greater things and it's a wonder...
