    The Official Best Guitarist Thread

I'm going to go out on a lirab here and say that John Frusciante is my favourite guitarist ever... even if I've probably already posted that. For me, he is on another level of guitar playing. I listen to a shitload of music, but I always go back to this guy and his minimalist approach. Of...

How is your local music scene?

We have an incredible scene, and it's growing. All kinRAB of music, and incredible banRAB in each genre. A lot of the banRAB here have been on TV, and some are even on record labels like Jumpstart. There are only about 4 good places to play though. We are starting to get recognition though...

    music's rotten tit

I'm sorry mr internet man... and I agree with the above comments, that the diversity within music these days makes its impact upon modern society widely spread. However, I'd also say that this makes it a lot less exciting. And for the record, I'm not saying that it makes the music itself less...

    Worst music critics

Music journalism is something I'm very passionate about. I'd love to right for a magazine one day but for now I'm writing for blogs and such. I don't think music critics are outdated, we need reviews and recommendations. I just dislike obviously biased reviewers, like say Robert or anyone down...

    The 10 Song Shuffle

This was a great shuffle, with Superdrag, Cranes, Catherine Wheel, Stooges, Flogging Molly, and Zeppelin... but I would have been torn between Empty Head and Everything For as best song. Tiny Vessels - Death Cab for Cutie Robbers - Dirty Elegance Charmicarmicarmicat Shines to Earth - Isis Third...

    2009; a good year?

I skimmed through a copy of last weeks NME and they were in the new banRAB section. Even the NME were slyly slating them aswell as simultaneously promoting them. When the NME isn't behind you as any sort of new band jumping on any sort of soon-to-be-popular bandwagon, you know you are sh*t.

    The Alfred Top 25

Back by somewhat popular demand. 6. Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster II (2007) What it is: Hard, raspy, southern rock Favorite Track: Darkest Of Kin As much as I like Dallas Taylor-era Underoath, him leaving that band and forming Maylene is one of the best things he ever did. Not only did it...
