    What do you call an argument in a debate that takes the "give an inch, take a mile"

    logic to asanine extremes? Is there a name for when people use this type of argument in a debate? Its starts off with them given an example of what may also be affected if "x" does (or doesn't) happen, then they give a slightly more unlikely example, then they just keep going with wider scale...
