Is the m50 fuel injected? If so it could possibly be your air box connection to the throttle body. If mine is a tad loose it will make the exact noise you describe, bird chirping on crack.

For a complete range - 1/2" and a 3/8" drive. 1/4" ones are hard to get the right attachments for imo. It's also debatable whether you need a torque wrench for 6Nm etc.
