UGH. As if specificity and metaphor were mutually exclusive.

Going to the cinema tonight, which of these films do you reccomend?

Seriously? Atonement? It was utter bollocks, i've just got back from seeing it. I will watch anything at all and usually i find at least something positive to say about some aspect of a film, but atonement, all i can come up with is that the acting was alright. Long winded, pretentious garbage

    Worst sequels ever

I know what you mean. I saw it in the cinema when it first came out. Its a good film, no doubt. I can still remember the voice of that medium, lol - it was weird & bizzare & certainly added to the spookiness of the whole thing but its just the theme that doesnt quite agree with me, well not...

    Lost In Translation

I found 'Lost in Translation' to be a heart-warming film that reminded me of the 1945 film 'Brief Encounter' and also of the whole concept that comes with holiday romance. Like 'Brief Encounter', two people, who's home life are down in the gutter at the moment look to someone else to make them...

The Godfather vs the Godfather part 2

I really can't choose. I actually saw Part II first, strangely enough (then watched the whole trilogy a year later over about a week). I had hardly any bloody idea what was going on. The problem was that by the time I finally got round to watching the original I knew pretty much everything that...

What is the most Shocking Scene?

You might be interested in Wolf Creek, an earlier film by the same director, which is based on a true story. (Rather freely based on, admittedly.) In some ways it is more plausible because of its smaller scale. I never really understood how the Hostel could tout for business without getting caught.

    Scariest film ever

Phantasm  First horror film I saw, and I was too young to see it at the time. The Japanese version of Ring was pretty freaky first time round.

    Casino Royale

Oh dear... But why on earth would I go and see a film I really don't fancy at all? I don't like the star, I didn't like the trailer, so there's nothing there to make me want to see it is there? And besides, why should it bother you and get you so upset that I don't want to see it? Also I...
