Texas Chainsaw (the original, not the remade tosh). Just because it's absolutely senseless, there's no reason for the violence, no spirits to blame, no monsters, no hollywood ending where the bad guys are locked up and everything is resolved at the end of the film.

It's a good attempt but the original is still the best. And the same goes for Texas Chainsaw Massacre No-one's mentioned The Departed yet. Haven't seen Infernal Affairs myself.
