    It depends on which one you have as there are a couple of different models. I got mine, for my C50, a Highway Hawk from Onidiea Suzuki and it mounts from the inside of the unit. So you have to remove a few screws to get the chrome cover off. My friend just bought on like yours for his 1100...

    Same experience here, I believe the ping is due no hydraulic lifters on the C50T and all the parts in the valve network have not expanded to running size at normal operating temperatures yet. As long as the sound goes away after the warm up it would seem all is well or so several Suzuki...
