    Pretty Woman

It is fantastic. I believe this is what made Julia Roberts a star, and is one reason I've always been a fan of hers. Its on ITV2 again tonight for anyone interested with Runaway Bride on straight after.

    mission impossible 4

Not so, it still hasn't made back its production budget and is the lowest grossing film of the trilogy. If it did happen, MI:3 would have to sell like mad on dvd. another option would be a straight to dvd outing with someone whos not famous

    The Medusa Touch (1978)

A particular forgotten favourite of mine. Both as a big Burton fan, and as a child/teenager of the 80's who grew up watching this at least once a year on telly. I have both the sp edition DVD and the original novel. From what I have read btw, in 2001 and 2002, American TV didnt show this film...

    memorable lines in movies

You be careful, John Book! Out among them English! from Witness ------------------------------------------------------------------------- And from Four Weddings and a Funeral Hugh Grant's character to Andie McDowell's character Look. Sorry. I just... Well... This is a...

War of the Worlds - review

Will the next movie actually feature the songs from the opera?? Or will it just be based on the general story of it?

    Star Wars rumour

Most of the extended universe stories are worth a read. The three Timothy Zahn ones mentioned are amongst the best - the characters really behave as you've come to expect them too.

Renfro left out of Oscars tribute

Um, that doesn't explain why he wouldn't have been included in the tribute though...which is what this thread was about in the first place.

What is the scariest movie you have seen?

Probably Don't Look Now - purely for the ending!! That stayed with me for years. I don't find the film scary otherwise its just that horrible ending!

    The Event...... Channel 4

    6) Why the convoluted kidnap plot, which relied upon Sean & Leila happening to go for a walk near Greg & Vicky, & relied upon Sean then saving Vicky, & relied upon Sean then going snorkelling with Vicky. Would have been far simpler if "They" had just killed Sean & taken Leila, instead of all the...

Good question,... Which reminds me that beta blockers, taken incorrectly, can raise the blood pressure.

    The Godfather Trilogy

The series is starting over the weekend. :D What do you think of this trilogy? My favourite was the first one with Al Pacino as amateur gangster and how he later started to become a ruthless mafiosa figure. Two...was fantastic because of the beginnings of the whole story...and again played...

    The Rocky Horror Picture show

I've seen Robin Cousins and Jason Donovan in the live show (and a few others, one even had Alvin Stardust playing Eddie). Shortly after seeing Robin Cousins, I saw him in panto in Woking and I bet hardly anyone else got the Rocky references.

Disney to remake 'Yellow Submarine' with CGI

In some ways, I think a remake, especially a bad one, say Wicker Man can enhance the original's standing as people too young to have seen the original or hadn't been around during the hype can go back and watch some cinematic marvels. The Wicker Man brought Neil La Bute's vision of the...

    Little Miss Sunshine

I want to see this film, if only because in the trailer there's a Sufjan Stevens song in the soundtrack. But I missed it!

    Favourite Classic sci-fi/Creature feature movies.

I've always had a soft spot for The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms - some great Ray Harryhausen footage in that one. I'm also partial to Frogs, which I find genuinely tense and eerie in spots, and really atmospheric with it's crispily filmed swampy American south backdrop. Roger Corman's AIP outfit...
