I've only heard Return to Cookie Mountain besides this so my comparison is limited. Dear Science has much smoother, glossy production and is missing a lot of the fuzz and distortion from RTCM.
And they've upped the funk quotient in their music, making Dear Science a much more upbeat and catchy...
that applies to just about any Canadian band besides maybe Nickelback though.
how big was The Hip before they went to Europe? or the Tea Party before they went to Australia?
the problem with Canadian musical culture is twofold.
on one hand you've got the CRTC trying to legislate culture...
Yor kidding mate...this album is essential. Not just to own and listen to, but it's influence on other artists can't be over exaggerated.
True their output wasn't mainstream, but brilliant all the same.
And fronted by a Scotsman too. ;)
For what he did to the genre they were put into, I think Issac Brock from Modest Mouse has been extremely influential to music, songwriting and so much more.

You've made serious allegations about a meraber of my staff which I would like to get to the bottom to.
all I am asking you to do is either give me proof what you say is true or drop the allegations. I don't want my staff merabers being the source of ridicule as this is a very serious company...
