    how do i know if my car is having problems with piston slap or valve tapping?

    i have a 2000 neon that just turned over 80,000 miles. when my car is idling i noticed a knocking noise which yea its there when i first start it up but i remains there after the car is warmed up. the thing i noticed is the noise seems to be on one side of the engine, i really cant make it out...
