There is a Japanese film called Black Rain (not to be confused with the Michael Douglas film of the same name) which is about the bombing of Hiroshima. It's a very powerful and harrowing film.

I didn't really enjoy this series compared with 1&2 there didn't seem to be enough comedy moments and I can count on my hand the amount of times I laughed during the whole of the 3rd series. I hope the film isn't a let down.
