The unknown man at the start of Irreversible. Any of the deaths in Cube were quite shocking. As were the deaths in Saw. Jacks death in American Werewolf in London was shocking when I was a kid. Does Kichizo Ishida in Ai no Corrida count as shocking?

As for Dreamworks...well they do miss quite often. Over the Hedge was cute enough, Shark Tale was ok, Madagascar 1 was decent but they did strike gold with Shrek and Shrek 2. The latter franchise can easily fit into the pixar list. Sadly the 3rd installment let it down.
