If you buy from Europe or Asia, though, you'll really want to get a quad-band phone to make sure it has the 850 MHz band.

The Cingular and T-Mobile BBs are on EDGE. Every place I go has EDGE so I think it must be almost nationwide. BB data plans on Cingular are 29.99 and 39.99 if you have a voice plan. I think T-Mo has a cheaper one, but I am not a T-Mo fan and can't tell you for sure. Best to check with them...

Not even! Rub your finger over the logo long enough and it will come off. I posted a thread about it awhile back. You'll probably want to get a new one anyway because the screen protector that comes on the phone will start to look terrible with all of the scratches very quickly.

I got the SanDisk 2Gb which came with an adapter to normal size SD for memory card readers and older devices. Cost me $68 AUD plus $12.10 AUD Shipping. Worked straight out of the box, so far no issues.
