I have a mobile phone contract with vodafone but I also have a vodafone dongle, can I put my phone sim into the dongle for the internet on my laptop?

I recently purchased my sony ericsson X10 and whilst browsing the handset i thought of giving youtube a try, but when i want to watch a video is says it cant play.
Any ideas??
