I put a new altenator with voltage regulator bur still was'nt getting the right voltage for a charge. So I got a new plu for the voltage regulator but it has 6 wires instead of the 4 on the old one. Colors are 1 yellow,2 white 1green,1black also a yellow pigtail. Should I tie the 2 white as one...

Have a Ford F-150 with dual magnaflows and I'm starting to get a really bad backfire sound. This just started for a month, what could be causing this problem???
