If updating your firmware by your original product code then you are good, but if u change the product code to update it to a diff firmware ex: APAC code to EURO code then Yes it will void it. You can still get warranty by doing it , just don't get caught and revert everything back to original

If you want hardcore graphics but don't have a fortune then you get a 360/PS3. Games for the 360/PS3 will improve graphically and always look good. To run a cutting edge shooter at high settings at 1280x960 you usually need the latest $600 video card.
